Dr. Shubhada M. Rao is the Founder of QuantEco, and brings with her over 32 years of experience in academia and industry. A gold medalist and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mumbai, she has worked as Chief Economist with marquee financial sector entities like Times Bank, CRISIL, & Kotak Institutional Equities.

She began her corporate career with ICICI as an economist in Planning & Treasury department. Prior to setting up QuantEco, an independent economic advisory firm, she served as a Senior Group President & Chief Economist at YES Bank for over 14 years. 

As a thought leader, she has extensively made presentations on India economy to the Federal Reserve, Bank of England, Bank of Canada, G20-IIF meetings, Ministers and delegations/ Secretaries of State of the UK, US, Australia, Japan among others; and Consul Generals, High Commissioners of Embassies of G7. Her views are often aired on marquee electronic & print media, both domestic & global.

Shubhada has held positions in various industry associations: Chairperson-Economics Committee at Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Co-Chair-Economics Committee at ASSOCHAM; Member-CII National Economic Policy Council & Member -Monetary Policy Group-Indian Banks Association.

Under her leadership, her team at YES Bank was often ranked among the Top 3 forecasters of Indian economic indicators by Bloomberg and was cited as a top forecaster for currency by Reuters in the past.
